Bayern Munich agree terms with Nottingham: Richards set to complete medical
After just 405 Bundesliga minutes and four games in the Champions League, left-back Omar Richards is set to depart Bayern Munich after just one season. Signed on a free transfer from Championship side Reading last year, the Englishman is now set to return to England despite being under contract until 2025. Bild reported on Thursday that a transfer to Nottingham is now set to be completed.
According to the German newspaper, Richards is now headed to England to complete his medical. Including bonus payments, Bayern are set to receive around €10 million. That fee not only guarantees Bayern a significant transfer profit but would make Richards one of the most expensive departures in club history.
At Nottingham Forest, Richards would be already the third Bundesliga signing this summer. The newly-promoted Premier League club has already signed Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin) and Moussa Niakhaté (Mainz) from the Bundesliga. Once completed, Richards—together with Niakhaté and Giulian Biancone—would become the third most expensive signing in Forest's club history.
