Cyle Larin linked with move to France - Besiktas' asking price above market value

Canadian striker Cyle Larin has been in sensational form this season. The Brampton, Ontario native has scored 11 goals in 16 Turkish Süper Lig games this season. Broken down by minutes his record is even more impressive, with the Canadian striker scoring every 91 minutes. With five goals scored, Larin—together with Hatayspor striker Aaron Boupendza—leads the list of top goalscorers in Europe's top 15 leagues for the month of January (to the statistic). 

Larin's market value has also benefitted from the good form. The striker saw his value grow to €5.5 million in December's Süper Lig market value update. Furthermore, clubs outside of Turkey have also noticed the 25-year-old's strong performances. Fanatik reporter Gökmen Özcan tweeted on Monday that one Ligue 1 club has made a €2.5 million offer for the striker, which has been rejected by Besiktas—the Turkish club wants in the region of €10 million for the forward. 

According to one industry source, the Ligue 1 club in question is a club in the relegation zone. Dijon FCO, in particular, have been looking for a forward of Larin's category. But with the club struggling in the lower regions of the table and the ongoing financial crisis in Ligue 1 would make such a transfer difficult for Dijon. Furthermore, demand for Larin will likely increase with clubs from England, Germany, and the Netherlands also monitoring the situation.
