Umaro Baldé joins Pacific FC - "Want to continue to develop young players"

Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC have added midfielder Umaro Baldé to the 2022 roster. The 19-year-old citizen of Guinea-Bissau and Portugal joins the club as a free agent after his contract with Scottish side Rangers expired in 2021. 

"Umaro is a young talented central midfielder coming with good youth experience," Pacific FC head coach James Merriman said in a club statement. "We want to continue to develop young players like Baldé in our environment."

Born in Guinea-Bissau, Baldé was raised in Portugal and played five times for the country's youth national teams. Baldé is also a product of the famous Sporting CP academy. "Umaro has joined our group now in pre-season and is working hard to get up to speed with the squad," Merriman said.
